Week 5: Recipe Of The Week

Week 5: Recipe Of The Week

This week’s Recipe of the Week came from another set of custom tie-in braids I made for a client. I blended it for her, braided it out, and immediately knew it needed to be written down because it’s one of those combos that I wouldn't expect to work but totally does!

A little moody, a little sparkly, and still soft at the same time.

Disco
Supervillain (Iridescent Tinsel)
✶ Grape Vape (Tinsel or Non Tinsel)
Wine Mom

The darker tones ground everything while the iridescent pieces catch the light and keep it from feeling heavy once it’s braided.

These Recipes Are Meant to Be Fun

These recipes are not rules. They are fun rules meant to be fun-broken.

If there are colors you don’t love, swap them.
If there are colors you do love, lean into them.

Some easy ways to customize:

✶ Don’t like Wine Mom? Use Dad Jeans instead.
✶ Don’t want the rainbow or iridescent tinsel? Use Silver Fox for a similar white base but only silver tinsel.
✶ Want it darker? Add more Supervillain.
✶ Want it brighter? Add more Disco.

There are honestly so many ways to make this one your own!

If You’re Not Sure…

If you feel stuck or are second guessing, that’s exactly why I share these. You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m more than happy to help you adjust a recipe to fit what you like or what you’re trying to achieve.

You can always reach out and I’ll help you tweak it :)

The Takeaway

The whole point of Recipe of the Week is to give you a starting point so choosing colors feels exciting instead of overwhelming.

Use the recipe exactly as written or treat it as inspiration and make it yours. Both are correct! <333
